Meet Leslie Greathouse
How did you hear about Faithfully Restored?
I heard about Faithfully Restored through Jamie Heard and Jamie Hamilton, two of our founders. The more I heard their stories and experienced their graceful natures, the more I wanted to know about the mission and vision of Faithfully Restored. The heart of God is apparent in how they live their lives and love the people around them.
What are you most excited about in regard to being a part of the Faithfully Restored Team?
God is so incredible in how He orchestrates our lives. Knowing each of the women involved in Faithfully Restored is such a gift in itself. What an incredible opportunity I’ve been gifted to grow and walk with these ladies!
I can only imagine how God is going to use this organization to encourage, uplift, and restore the lives of women all around us, as He has already shown us He can. I am thrilled to be a part of sharing the hope and freedom that Christ bestows upon us.
Tell us a little bit about your family and what you like to do in your free time.
Born and raised in the small town of Cookeville with the love of experiencing new things, I have lived life in many different states and countries. This ultimately led me to meet my husband, Evan, in the dusty west Texas oil town of Midland. We spent the first several years of marriage there before landing in Nashville in 2019. We have two daughters and a son on the way.
While raising young children has grounded me from traveling as much, we enjoy finding adventure close to home. When the weather is warm you can usually find us hiking or exploring the beautiful outdoors. I'm also a lover of books. I suppose that goes hand in hand with a love of new experiences; a book can take you almost anywhere. Give me a warm cup of tea with a little milk and sugar, a cozy blanket, and a great book and I'm a happy girl.
Favorite Bible verse and why?
I hesitate to say I have a favorite verse, per se. There are too many that God has spoken over me throughout the ups and downs of life. However, a passage that I continually return to is Isaiah 61.
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
Because the Lord has anointed and commissioned me
To bring good news to the humble and afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up [the wounds of] the brokenhearted,
To proclaim release [from confinement and condemnation] to the [physical and spiritual] captives
And freedom to prisoners...
...So they will be called the trees of righteousness [strong and magnificent,
distinguished for integrity, justice, and right standing with God],
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified...
...Instead of your [former] shame you will have a double portion;
And instead of humiliation your people will shout for joy over their portion...
Everlasting joy will be theirs..." (vs. 1,3,&7)
God has faithfully seen me through the dark nights of the soul and he has danced with me through seasons of overflowing joy. In all of it, He has planted a deep desire to share the freedom I have experienced through the life-giving power of Jesus. I want everyone to live in that same true love and joy.
