Jennie Rebecca's Story

I am Jennie Rebecca Springer, child of God, a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and neighbor. Born and raised in Nashville, I met my husband Jarron in high school and started dating him my freshman year at Alabama. In college, I dreamed of having four children. Battle and Hayes, our first two sons, were born a mere 15 months apart. Three years later, Gray was born and completed our family. In the afternoon of June 8th, 2016, our Hayes was killed in a car accident. Our world was shattered. Our precious almost 8 year-old was gone. Two brothers missing the third.

Our community literally held us up in the minutes, hours and days that followed. Who was that community? Our friends, family, church, neighbors and the many strangers who all prayed for us, with us, held us and continue to walk beside us in our journey of grief. Seventeen months to the day and time that Hayes went Home, Hyde Edward Springer, our fourth son, was born. Not ever a replacement, but a blessing and sign of God’s love. Through this journey of life, I’ve learned that this world is broken. But God is unimaginable love and it is shown through so so many people, community. Faith does not eradicate grief. My walk is still a daily walk. But there is still joy to be found. And I want to share my story, my love and be a part of community for those who are hurting.
