A recently had to place her husband in hospice who has end stage liver disease and hepatic encephalopathy. She is not in great health so being a caregiver can be difficult.
E is a 35 yr old woman who has been sick her entire life with a rare genetic disorder. E is currently in need of a 5 organ transplant but cannot do it until she has open heart surgery. She is feeling defeated and sad.
Her son has been in the NICU since birth and has multiple heart problems and has had many surgeries. She could use some encouragement and a reminder that she is not alone.
Her son was born prematurely and they have been at Vanderbilt for months. This is she and her husband's first child and they live a couple of hours away.
