Meet Courtney Allen

How did you hear about Faithfully Restored?

I heard about Faithfully Restored through my church, Fellowship Bible. I also keep babies in the church nursery on Sunday mornings and have had the privilege of caring for both Jamies' baby girls!

What are you most excited about being part of the Faithfully Restored team?

I’m pumped to be a part of the Faithfully Restored team and for the community of women I get to work with and the actual work we get to do. I get to hear women’s stories which in and of itself is an honor. When someone is willing to trust you with their story it feels like a sacred thing. Then I get to curate a package that, hopefully, will encourage them and brighten their day! Who doesn’t love getting happies in the mail?!

Tell us a little bit about your family and what you like to do in your free time.

I’ve been married to my husband, Kyle, for almost 19 years and we’ve got three kids: Paxton (18), Caitlin (15), and Blake (13). We’ve lived in the Brentwood area for 14 years and attend Fellowship Bible Church. My background is in nursing, and I did that part time for a long time and decided I just needed something different. I’ve written a couple of children’s books along the way and enjoy writing in my free time. I also like to read, cook, exercise, and eat dessert…hence the reason I like/need to exercise ;)

Favorite bible verse and why?

I’m not sure I have a FAVORITE bible verse but I do have one that challenges and inspires me…“Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.” John 13:1 This verse comes before Jesus washes His disciples’ feet. Something about Jesus, knowing He was hours away from being hung on a cross, continuing to love His people by serving them just gets me in my guts. He even loved the one He knew would betray him a few hours later. He loved them til the end. It challenges me to love and serve—even the ones I may not agree with, even the ones that have the potential to hurt me. He loves with reckless abandon because that’s the only way He knows. It feels like grace upon grace to me--I can’t get over it and pray I never do.
